The Beginning to A New Start I think over the course of this class I have learned, gained experience in several areas, and strengthened my skills. The progress I have made since January helps me now and will help me in the long-run.  I think because of all of the practice I have had working with Sahana one-on-one, I have understood how to do partner work and how to connect with the other actor. I think I have realized throughout our practices that the way an actor says their lines is important as it helps the other actor(s) build off of what has been said to help the scene progress. I have noticed the importance of this and I have tried to incorporate this into the work I do and will continue to do so. I think a part of this learning process involves reminding myself to really sell myself to the audience and put myself out there, as I feel that is something important that I have been told to do in the past. Reflection I think preparing and performing a scene for our last project specifically was a good choice. After working our way up to this project throughout the course of this class, I think using this as the finale to the class was a good way to wrap everything up. From our "Director's Vision" project, we took away what its like to use space in a scene and how to use it and take advantage of it. We also had practice with costume, lighting, choreography, and props through that practice which is incorporated in our scene as well. Thus, the knowledge we acquired from that previous project can be applied to this project, which I think we did. This helped with our scene. After choosing this scene, we ran it many times. I think the more times we had run the scene, the more we had understood and became comfortable with our character and the way we were portraying our character. Proposal what are you going to do and why? Be specific.  Why will this be a good final project and how will it both challenge you and showcase your skills and what you have learned this semester? For this project, Sahana and I will be performing a scene entitled, "Pretty Girl/Plain Girl." It is a duet scene written by Lindsay Price from www.theatrefolk.com, written in a comedic style. Because of its length, we are going to perform the whole first page and the cut after the first line on the second page, "'I don't think you'll ever be ready for pageant girls.'" Sahana and I plan to post a sign-up sheet on the wall that the characters will use to set the scene. We plan on performing it right here in the classroom since we imagine them to be at school. Reflection Throughout the course of this project, both Sahana and I have learned a great amount. In order to obtain this knowledge, we started out by conducting a little research on this project. We perused through websites, as well as Youtube to discover as much as we could about the very broad topic of stage make-up. Through our findings, we learned different types of faces one can apply for stage makeup: a basic look and fantasy look. While we watched tutorials online for assistance, for the most part we experimented and used our prior knowledge to create a look. We looked into what products were needed in order to complete each look and ordered them off of Amazon. When they arrived soon after, we experimented with what worked and what didn't. For the basic look, we discovered through the process of applying it how it differs from regular-day basic make-up. By comparing the same type of look but more different occasions, ...
