Reflection As a team, I think Sahana and I worked really well together. In our collaboration, we combined our thoughts and ideas to create the scenery, costuming, choreography, use of props, lighting, soundtrack, and general design of the piece. We didn't argue about our decisions and the both of us contributed an equal amount to this project. Our ideas excited each other and we were very motivated to make this the best we could. I also like the spontaneity we had during the project. I think it is what made it so fun, unique, and creative. I think we did a pretty good job of thinking outside the box and experimenting with new ideas and trying certain things out. Something I think we can improve upon for next time is planning out the angle we are filming from and how far away that will be from the stage. Preparing a Monologue 1. Understanding character - who? how old? personality? etc. - Scarlett, 9 year old girl -confident 2. Situation - where? when? why? who are you talking to? - Sitting on her bed in her room at night - Getting ready to go to bed - Talking to audience 3. Language : meaning (what you are trying to say - 1 sentence) - explain my sister's "irrational" fear of monsters hiding in her room at night 4. emotion / flow / build - Confident until she's becomes scared (maybe paranoid) 5. Body language & blocking - movements - Sitting slouched on the edge of bed, legs dangling - Slides to other end of the bed quickly out of fright on "Dad!"
