Stage Makeup Project Proposal

Proposal Goal: I hope to accomplish an understanding for stage makeup and how it differs throughout its forms of basic, fantasy, bold, old-looking, etc. I hope for the results to be well-done even though I know it is a difficult task I will put forth my best effort in attempts to improve my skills and knowledge on this unit of theatre.  Materials : Because I am performing a basic makeup look on the mystery volunteer I will provide myself with an eye brown pencil, concealer, beauty blender, facial cleanser, toner, moisturizer, cotton swabs, blush, bronzer, and mascara.  Hope to Learn: I hope to learn the proper techniques of these makeup looks as well as from having makeup applied from me. By having someone else do my makeup I can learn more about how to apply these techniques to my makeup look and learn how to individualize and use a variety of techniques within one type of look. Final Project Reveal: Sahana will perform a mermaid makeup look for the fantasy ty...

Director's Vision Project Reflection

Reflection As a team, I think Sahana and I worked really well together. In our collaboration, we combined our thoughts and ideas to create the scenery, costuming, choreography, use of props, lighting, soundtrack, and general design of the piece. We didn't argue about our decisions and the both of us contributed an equal amount to this project. Our ideas excited each other and we were very motivated to make this the best we could. I also like the spontaneity we had during the project. I think it is what made it so fun, unique, and creative. I think we did a pretty good job of thinking outside the box and experimenting with new ideas and trying certain things out. Something I think we can improve upon for next time is planning out the angle we are filming from and how far away that will be from the stage. This is important to do in advance so you can experiment with the film and see what is working and what isn't. This way you can make sure that the production of this piec...

"Footloose" Reflection

Overview: Overall, I really enjoyed Cheshire's production of Footloose . I found the very first scene very intriguing. I felt that it interested the audience and pulled them into the story in a fun and exciting way. I liked the energy the cast brought to the stage. It made me want to go up there with them.  Casting: I felt that the casting was perfect. I believe every person really fit their role and portrayed it accurately. In some specific individuals I could see their personality come out of their character and it made me realize how perfectly fit they were for the role. For example, I think Mao did a great job playing this funny character because its something I could see her do in real life. I also think Tony's character fit him well, especially when he sang, "I can't stand still" because I know he is a very active individual and is very energetic and athletic. I also heard him rap in the play which I know he also enjoys in real life. Aside from individu...

Director's Vision Rope connects flying carpet (portable bed) to some sort of base to enable the bed to move (possibility) Maybe the lights turn off during certain parts of the scene which allows glow-in-the-dark stars to light  and be shown the audience Scene starts and ends on the big, tall stairs located down stage right. Whole stage should portray the palace, the sky, flying carpet
